
On October 27, the “Dialogue between China and the World” was held at Renmin University of China, an academic forum whose main theme was “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era”, where five topics were discussed: (1) Communist Party of China (CPC) and World Socialism, (2) CPC and Human Poverty Alleviation, (3) CPC and Ecological Civilization, (4) CPC and Progress in Human Rights, and (5) Communist Party of China and Global Governance.

The China-World Dialogue was organized by the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This Academy was established on October 25, 2017 and officially became more famous on January 12, 2018 with the approval of the CPC Central Committee. The opening speech of the dialogue was delivered by Professor Jin Nuo secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China and chairman of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

The event was attended by distinguished guests from China, Russia, India, Nigeria, South Africa, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Europe, Malaysia and the United States. Among the international guests were: Alexander Lomanov, Director of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences; B. R. Deepak professor and president of the Center for China and Southeast Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi; Charles Onunaiju director of the Center for Chinese Studies in Nigeri0a; David Monyae, director of the Africa-China Studies Center at the University of Johannesburg; Gustavo Girado, director of the postgraduate program Contemporary China Studies at the National University of Lanús in Argentina; Lee Cheng director of the John Thornton China Centre, Martin Jacques senior research fellow at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, Michele Genovese retired European Commission administrator for the international department of the Directorate General for Science Technology and Innovation; Ngeow Chow Director of the Institute of China Studies at the University of Malaya and Robert Lawrence president of the Kuhn Foundation.

Among the local guests, prominent scholars participated in the dialogue, including: Pan Yue Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Qin Xuan Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Professor of the School of Marxism Studies, Wang Yiwei Deputy Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, professor of the School of International Studies of Renmin University of China, Jiang Hui Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhang Yongsheng President of the Research Institute for Eco-civilization, CASS.

During the dialogue, the participants expressed their different views on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era of Xi Jinping, and raised the need to promote the construction of a community of human destiny from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Representing Latin America, Professor Gustavo Girado (Argentina) presented the research “Chinese standards arrive on the New Silk Road”. The African delegation was led by Professor David Monyae (South Africa) who spoke on “Socialism with Chinese characteristics: an African perspective” and Professor Charles Onunaiju (Nigeria), who spoke on “The Communist Party of China and the alleviation of human poverty: an African perspective”. Also on poverty alleviation, Professors Sun Yongmei (China) presented his research on “The contribution of “Chinese wisdom” to the fight against human poverty, B.R. Deepak (India) on “Poverty alleviation in China and lessons for the world” and Li Xiaoyun (China) on “Common prosperity begins with the eradication of poverty”.

The fruitful China-World Dialogue closed with remarks by Professors Qin Xuan and Wang Yiwei of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, RUC. Professor Wang Yiwei leads the list of 20 experts on the Belt and Road Initiative in China and the world.
In September 2019, the State Council Information Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China released the white paper “China and the World in the New Era “which outlines the achievements made by the Asian Nation of the past seven decades, and ratifies the commitment to advance on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
